Lokher is an Algerian painter, a graduate of the École supérieure des beaux-arts d'Alger. His practice is rooted in a sensitive inquiry in which sight, the body, and movement play a central role. Rather than representing the world as it is, he is interested in how it is perceived, traversed, and sometimes displaced.
Lokher's work is built through a direct relationship with space. Movement becomes a tool for reflection, and walking a way of observing forms, colors, and perspectives differently. This approach gives rise to a fragmented pictorial world, where images function as layers of thought, attempts to capture inner states in constant transformation.
His path led him to present his work on several international stages: in 2023 with the Inloco gallery in Dubai, then in 2024 in Marrakech with the BCK gallery, in collaboration with Les Créatifs Africains. That same year, he took part in the Design Biennale, with presentations at the Belgian Embassy and at Dojo Alger, and joined the IFCA international artist residency.
In 2025, Lokher presented a solo exhibition at XBM, a milestone that affirmed the coherence of his pictorial world and his position within the contemporary scene.
